Tanko Marble Clock

The elite French design studio, Retegui, was first established in 1939. Today, the company creates exquisite and ultra-modern marble furniture designs. Retegui has developed highly innovative milling and bonding techniques that enable marble to be made considerably lighter, while ensuring great solidity and strength. This technology gives rise to elegant creations that possess true originality and sophistication in their design.

The minimalist design of the Tanko wall clock combines elegant black or white marble with sumptuous full-grain leather from the Rémi Carriat tannery. The form of the piece, particularly the distinctive indentation at the bottom, is derived from that of a ‘milk watcher’, a traditional porcelain device used to prevent milk from boiling over a pot. The striking timepiece was designed by Basque designer Jean Louis Iratzoki for Retegui, and is available in both white Carrara and black Markina marble, with three leather options.
